Overview of Position:
Senior Care Volunteer Network is seeking a passionate and innovative leader who values volunteerism and community service. The Program Director will oversee key programs that support our senior care receivers, ensuring they receive the necessary services to maintain their independence and quality of life. This mid-level management position is crucial for the organization’s success and provides fulfilling opportunities for community members to support older adults in need of supportive services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality program services are delivered to our senior care receivers.
- Supervise program staff, addressing their operational, HR, and technical requirements.
- Maintain a strong understanding of SCVN programs, funding requirements, and mission.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and resources to team members to achieve their objectives and deliverables.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report each programβs effectiveness to the executive director, board of directors, funding agencies, and stakeholders.
- Promote a collaborative team culture within and across the SCVN program teams.
- Cultivate relationships with community partners and stakeholders to enhance and potentially expand program offerings.
- Ensure adequate coverage and staffing of programs and the SCVN office.
- Partner with the Executive Director on key deliverables and strategies.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support the organization’s mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, nonprofit certification, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 3-5 years of nonprofit experience as a manager, leader, or program director.
- 5 or more years of general nonprofit experience, civil service, or social service with increasing responsibility preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Skills/Abilities:
- Superior team management skills.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work with a variety of constituents, including older adults, volunteers, family members, and funders.
- Excellent organization, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing superior customer service.
- Knowledge of nonprofit organizations, funding sources, and reporting requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively and in a team environment, self-motivated, and self-starter.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Work Environment:
This position typically works in an office environment during open office hours but may require occasional travel for local events and meetings.
